  1. This appears during client startup I can get into the game (ENTER works in login screen) but can't really do anything. I can walk though. Woops. There is a timestamp and you can't read the text. In the chat thing, it says "I can't press ENTER!". This is using 2011-01-11a and other older client versions. I just keep getting "Failed to Authenticate" errors on newer clients (even 2012-04-18a, which was the one used on the small Hercules installer). I've tried setting the "Read GRF first" option on the diffing part, as was advised on other threads, and set the rdata.grf in the DATA.INI (it wasn't there originally), it resulted to a "Rejected by Server" error which isn't logged by the login server. I'd just like to point out again that I am able to play fine at this point using the small Hercules installer, but I would like to be able to set it up barebones as the hercules installer has a 80mb custom GRF. Older clients: ALT ENTER not working Newer clients(2012): Failed to Authenticate
  2. Yes. I'm getting one minor error which I think is a LUA problem. The chat window IS there, I'd just like to point out. I just can't use it for all intents and purposes. I don't have the slightest idea how to fix it. I did find versioned LUB files though. Is it possible to use that over the LUA files and just specify it in the diffing? I have the impression that LUB files are just LUA binaries. There are no versioned LUA files in any repository.
  3. I am able to log on and get into the game (ENTER works for the login screen) but when I am in the game itself, walking and whatnot, ENTER and ALT doesn't work. So when I press ENTER, the chat bar thing doesn't pop up so I click the icon thing on the chat to let it show. ALT also doesn't work so I can't use Alt + M and type warps there even though ENTER doesn't work. I googled it and there seems to only be one old eathena thread about it. I also don't understand the LUA to client version since the LUA files don't have version in them so I don't know which LUA to grab. I just grab and tried different LUAs on the web (old and new) and see which fits. None did. But yea, apart from that, it would also be very convenient if I didn't have to carry around extra 80mb from the custom GRF. Is it possible to work with the default data folder that comes with a raw kRO install? Or do I really need to grab one of those data folders around forums? I didn't have this problem before when I first tried creating a local server.
  4. I copied most of it (didn't include the DATA.INI and hercules.grf) and I still get the "Authentication Failed" error. I changed the mmo.h as well. It's working when it's in its entirety, apparently. However, it would be very convenient if I didn't have to carry around this 80mb .grf. It appears as though newer clients aren't working and I only get into the game using older clients (early 2011 to 2010). And when I am in the game, ENTER and ALT aren't working so I can't type any commands to warp.
  5. I keep getting "Failed to Authenticate" errors whenever I try out other clients. The reason I've been trying out different clients is that ALT and ENTER doesn't work when I'm in the game. To solve the ALT-ENTER problem, I've tried getting different LUA files since people say it's a version incompatibility. Then I tried changing clients to use and they just won't work because of a "Failed to Authenticate" error. I change the PACKETVER in mmo.h whenever I change clients. I tried both using clients that are only in the comments and the ones that aren't. I've diff'd them using WeeDiff using the recommended parameters. Only 2011-01-11aRagexeRE gets me into the game but has the ALT ENTER problem. 2011-10-25aRagexeRE, 2012-03-07cRagexeRE, 2012-04-18aRagexeRE, 2012-10-17bRagexeRE are the clients I've used aside from 2011-01-11a. My data folder is from http://rathena.org/board/topic/66962-basic-complete-renewal-data-english-folder/ and my kRO client is fully up to date.
