  1. Good day, Anyone could help me which OS is better? CentOS? If CentOS, the higher version is the better? Planning to purchase from OVH, OS are - CentOS 8, Debian 10, Ubuntu 19.10, and ArchLinux. (I only listed the highest versions) On my previous setup, if i remember I use CentOS and followed the guide https://herc.ws/wiki/Installation_(CentOS)
  2. Anyone recommend which OS i will choose? Which one is easier to configure, I don't know anything yet. I just wanted to learn configure a server myself. Anyone can help? My choices are only Centos 5,6,7 (64 bit) Debian 6,7 (64 bit) Ubuntu 12.04,14.04,16.04 (64 bit)
  3. Heya - i've been trying to install Hercules to my Debian VPS (DigitalOcean) but i've yet to succeed. I'm quite new to Linux-world, but i have been able to set up the server, apache, mysql, php, mumble-server and wordpress (woohoo.. ) Got error in ./config at first, but it was related to mysql, which i fixed with apt-get install libmysqlclient-dev and apt-get install libssl-dev - i'm not sure which one actually fixed the problem.. but it worked. After that, i got error in compiler, which indicated that i missed C for compiling anything. After installing that, i managed to start the compile but it resulted in the error at hand. Here is the command shell log: I tried to google the shit out from that error but i could not find anything that would have helped me So i post it here, hoping that i can get this error solved and server up & running. ========================================================================================================= This problem was fixed with apt-get install libpcre3 libpcre3-dev and then ./configure make clean make sql No errors. Thanks to Ema for the help, on IRC, #Hercules@Rizon

  5. Hi, I am running RO client with version 20140205 in Linux, but it got crashed. Anyone know where to get the Linux support for that version? Thank you
  7. Hi guys, It's been 10 years or so since I setup a RO server and so many things have changed that I'm a little bit lost here. I'm trying to setup a basic server under a CentOS 6.6 server and so far I can actually launch it with no errors or warnings. The client side is far from done but at least I can connect to a test server in my Windows 7 desktop. The problem is that the same client (changing the IP address in clientinfo.xml of course) doesn't connect to my Linux server. It does nothing. It just tells me Failure to connect" a while after entering my username and password (not using user #1). BTW my Linux server is running in a VMWare ESXi virtual box and the client is 2013-12-23 Here are the contents of some relevant files: conf/import/login_conf.txtbind_ip: 192.168.0.230login_ip: 192.168.0.230login_port: 6900account.engine: autoaccount.sql.db_hostname: 192.168.0.230account.sql.db_port: 3306account.sql.db_username: hercules1234account.sql.db_password: mypasswordaccount.sql.db_database: hercules1234_rag conf/import/char_conf.txtuserid: hercules1234passwd: mypasswordserver_name: Herculeslogin_ip: 192.168.0.230bind_ip: 192.168.0.230login_port: 6900char_ip: 192.168.0.230char_port: 6121start_point: new_1-1,53,111 conf/import/map_conf.txtuserid: hercules1234passwd: mypasswordchar_ip: 192.168.0.230bind_ip: 192.168.0.230char_port: 6121map_ip: 192.168.0.230map_port: 5121 conf/import/inter_conf.txtsql.db_hostname: 192.168.0.230sql.db_port: 3306sql.db_username: hercules1234sql.db_password: mypasswordsql.db_database: hercules1234_ragchar_server_ip: 192.168.0.230char_server_port: 3306char_server_id: hercules1234char_server_pw: mypasswordchar_server_db: hercules1234_ragmap_server_ip: 192.168.0.230map_server_port: 3306map_server_id: hercules1234map_server_pw: mypasswordmap_server_db: hercules1234_raglog_db_ip: 192.168.0.230log_db_port: 3306log_db_id: hercules1234log_db_pw: mypasswordlog_db_db: hercules1234_loglog_login_db: loginloguse_sql_db: no conf/subnet.confsubnet: 255.0.0.0:192.168.0.1:192.168.0.1 src/common/mmo.h#ifndef PACKETVER //#define PACKETVER 20141022 #define PACKETVER 20131223#endif // PACKETVER Any clues? I've checked the ports on the server and it's listening on all 3 RO ports so that's open. What am I missing? Thanks!!!!! hmm... seems I've forgotten to open specific ports in the iptables. Followed this guide: http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Network/IPTables
  8. Installation Guide for Hercules and FluxCP on Linux (Ubuntu/Debian-based installations) Hi guys, I'm putting together this manual on how to install Hercules from scratch along with FluxCP given that at present the process is quite disjointed and has quite a steep learning curve. Let me know what you think. Please note that it's still a work in progress though is starting to come together. Will update further as soon as I can. 9. Good evening, As a yellow boned user of eAthena, a friend of mine that always comes over to ask me to help him out with server errors since Jesus's Birth, has come today once more showing me this. CC inter.cinter.c: In function âgeoip_initâ:inter.c:487: error: âerrnoâ undeclared (first use in this function)inter.c:487: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only onceinter.c:487: error: for each function it appears in.)inter.c:500: warning: implicit declaration of function âlseekâinter.c:502: warning: implicit declaration of function âreadâmake[1]: *** [obj_sql/inter.o] Error 1make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/emulador/new-install/src/char'make: *** [char_sql] Error 2 This is the very first time i've seen something like this, mostly of the time users forget to install some 'devel' lib or something, but the system has every package installed properly. Also, i re-downloaded a git clone in a new dir and still, we don't seem to be able to compile it. I'm not used to ask people for support, but today is one of those days. Thanks in advance.
