getitem2 susceptible to party sharing rules.

I have seen a few reports on my server regarding an NPC that I made. It is for identifying the items in your inventory using a combination of delitem2 and getitem2. Some have reported that sometimes they don't get their item back from the NPC. A little digging and they have stated that if there is some type of Party Share on the loot, that it may get sent to another person in the party. Is this official? Should NPC giving items be susceptible to party share rules? Not sure if it works this way with getitem.
