The family party share doesn't work like it's supposed to. From tests on Aegis and from iROWiki:

So basically as an adopted char you should be able to party share if you are with both of the parents in a party OR with one of the parents. After some research we found out that eA does do this correctly when BOTH parents are on, but not when ONE of the parents is on.
