I found some excessive code today when inspecting the char-map protocol.
There are globals on both charserver and mapserver that track the max. char id and account id so far seen during the login process.
Charserver transmits these values to the mapserver during char login process.
These values are only used for packetver detection (meaning totally useless if you use known packet versions).
