The map_index.txt file states that the format for map indexes should be "mapname<tab>index," yet the first map in the list has used a <space> rather than a <tab> since before revision 10171.
The only difference I've seen from replacing that <space> with a <tab> and creating a brand-new mapcache has been that it stops skipping the maps poring_c01 and poring_c02 when the mapserver loads.
Minor bug, if it can be called that.

Edit: this would have been from r10005, apparently, and is unchanged in the latest revision, which means it's been like this for nearly 4 years...
