Hercules has a nasty click delay that everyone had previously been talking about but I'd never experienced until I switched to it. ;_; I originally thought it was something to do with the packet db file, but upon investigating, found both version to contain the same packets, ruling that possibility out. None of my software has changed-- still using the same Harmony package as pre/post switching to Hercules, same hardware, only difference is that we're now running Hercules.

Were there any "performance" updates that perhaps have caused the click latency?

Looking forward to hearing back on this!

in a live server? I can't experience it in a localhost server,,:)

I can't reproduce either o-o but depending on how it happens I think I have a guess. need you to answer my question below

[10:34:02] <~Ind> jtynne did you change clients when you changed to hercules?
[10:34:38] <~Ind> is it present using skills or walking or both?[/quote]

Client is unchanged; It's affecting both. It's the "click delay" many people complain about from RE clients.. I hadn't experienced it until the switch to Hercules..

hmm..how about memory/cpu usage on the server side did you notice some changes? or difference with rA?

Hercules is running with less RAM usage. rAthena literally was hitting 1.5gb RAM, whereas Hercules is running at half of that. Ind said it was something to do with the official walk path option in the config I believe that is/may be causing this?

maybe..what if you try to turn it off..then observe..

weird my machine specs is lower than yours and I don't experience lag even visual studio, chrome, vlan is open..
I'm just experiencing lag on multiple clients...

Setting in the config to NOT use the default walk path fixed this issue for me. :)

malufett - Feb 26, 2013 13:21

ah..therefore I conclude you are using a client where it bypasses default zoom view...so its looks like a delay...:)
