When I use @mail the inbox appears, but clicking the write tab doesn't do anything. Clicking it shows no error server side, nor does it seem to give any response error wise client side. Very confusing.
I am using the Hercules 2013-12-23 full client, so hopefully this is replicable by someone here.

It's a clientside problem. kRO (and possibly other servers) removed the mail system, so it doesn't allow you to send mails with langtype 0 and perhaps some others.
There's nothing that can be done serverside about this, you'll need either a different langtype or a hexed client to restore the mail system.

just put nemos diff into your client "Activate Mail System for all langtypes" (or something like that)
