That's happening because the MVP is unable to reach the player.
In official monsters (MVPs included) walk to the right( left? ) to try and get around the icewall and attack their target. However, if they are unable to reach their target, they enter a rude-state, and when attacked in that state they cast their rude skill ( which happens to be teleport ). Thus the warp away.

Can't watch the video, but the same should already work here because Michieru merged all my Icewall updates.

But an icewall on a boss-type and it goes completely inactive. It teleports away if you attack it outside its attack range but attacks back if you attack it from within its attack range.
